Vans traveling around with radio station logos

I forget which thread mentioned this.

But I paid my phone bill today and the reason the woman wasn't there to take my money was she was outside for the "event". Fortunately someone was inside and went out to get her. There was an SUV with the Rock 92 logo (Greensboro NC) and a larger van (for Ford it would be an Econoline but I didn't notice which manufacturer) also with the Rock 92 logo.

This one:

Posters were saying that stations aren't doing promotion as much as they once did. I disagree. Even stations that have no local talent have radio vans that appear at sports events, concerts, and other public gatherings. As you have observed.
Isn't radio promotions these days are done on the national level? I know Iheart does sweepstakes on the national level for their owned and operated stations such as music festivals and promoting their music awards but that was prior to the COVID-19 crisis. The reopening of their sweepstakes is yet to be seen. I remember Iheart talks about a Jingle Ball sweepstakes on the national level while KIIS Los Angeles has the same event under a local label such as KIIS Jingle Ball during November-December timeframe.

Both. Especially iHeart. They use the national platform and the local platform, just as they sell nationally and locally.

Everybody is in "marketing." When college kids ask what they should major in: Marketing.
