Variety 99.3 is now Mixx 99.3

I wonder what's behind the decision to go CHR. I'm not criticizing it, but they don't encode for PPM & if that continues, it boils down to depending on a sales staff that can sell it without any listenership figures to present to clients. Their Facebook page says they will be live & local with local DJs from the nightlife scene and beyond. Also, a plan to connect the world in one place. It sounds like they have their sights set on more than just the locals. If they're hiring local club DJs, they're relying on them to spread the word. This sounds like it's going to be very danceable.

Live Friday at 3PM according to their Facebook page. The link to their website brings you to go daddy though. They will also have an app.

Sounds like they're cranking it up a bit. Still seems to be a soccer-mom format to me.MY question is this; What happens to WADK?

This is what I heard after 6pm this afternoon during the apparent mix show:

- The theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (Today's 20-year-old was 3 when that show went off the air.)
- A dry liner calling the station "The All-New Mix 93-3" (now THERE'S some wishful thinking...)
- Apache (Jump On It) - Sugar Hill Gang
- Love Get Down - Evelyn "Champagne" King
- Get Lucky - Daft Punk
- Say it Right - Nelly Furtado

...

You have GOT to be kidding me. Swing and a miss. They're calling this CHR? The presentation of the station is making Q105 sound major market.

I wish them all the luck in the world, but in a crowded CHR market, I'm not sure they can pull it off.
