Howie will milk it as long as possible. However, does he lose credibility as he spends more and more of his time in Florida and less time as a MA resident? Right now he has an easy gig so there's no compelling reason to give it up, but eventually people do (e.g. Savage)

What happens to Grace when Howie hangs it up? She's riding his coattails at the moment but in terms of political discussion/analysis she's completely vacuous. She might be a nice enough lady and 'not guilty', but she doesn't bring the experience/resume one would expect for political talk radio.



I suppose that depends on his education. There is an unholy alliance between the media and politicians, for instance, so political consultant is always a possibility. Marketing/communication is another. I suppose those gigs aren't necessarily going to pay the same as what he was/is making (I have no idea what "the talent" in positions like VB has make) but one does what one needs to do to put food on the table.

I imagine the Albany area, from what I recollect the few times I've been out that way, is a nicer area than the Boston area is, in terms of raising kids.

It's kind of hard to compare Grace's experience to Howie's, considering his professional career is old enough to be her grandfather.

She may not know a lot of what happened on Beacon Hill in the 1980s, but she has good recall on things that have happened during her time in the business. She also appears to be good at bringing in subject matter experts to discuss issues.

Matty In The Morning comes from his Florida home, some WMEX 1510 programing comes from one of the owners studios in Estero Florida, and there are others I am sure... I think Gary LaPierre did some of his last years at WBZ-A from Florida.

It isn't like Howie is the City Hall beat reporter and going out on the streets looking for stories.... most tips are emailed to him or forwarded from other reporters.. or he just talks about what others have written about in the newspapers.... all of which you can read online.

He also has a Producer and probably another staff person/intern that is doing show prep for him.

Plus any shows he does from FL are MA state income tax free.... and since he is no longer legally a MA resident, filing that pesky Mass Non Resident tax return makes you want to make as much money as you can in FL rather than MA

Howie has staff that do show prep, but he does a lot of show prep as well.
