VB on Michael Graham this morning

How odd was it to hear VB as a guest on Michael Graham's show this morning? Don't tell me he's on the outs with Entercom too.

I guess he won't be filling in for Feinburg anytime soon...

V.B. is Howie's loyal lieutenant. Without Howie VB would never have landed on Fox. All due respect to overweight people but some fat guy is never going to get a TV job without someone twisting an arm or two.
And what does VB bring to the equation? Fox was reaching out to Howie when they hired his lovable buffoon of a producer. How many XXXtra Large men are currently getting hired on TV? Give us a list!

Wherever Howie goes, VB will follow. Even if it is as fill-in. And don't think Greater Media isn't throwing Howie a kiss by having Doug Goudie on the air.

What's wrong with a heavy person on television? Do you think media anchors represent the average person? ???

Nowadays, all the men on tv are effeminate and look like gel-haired sissies. VB was great on the radio and does a decent job on Fox. Agreed that working as Howie's producer had something to do with getting the FOX25 morning show, but if he wasn't doing well, he would not still be there.

VB did lose quite a bit of weight. I used to joke that he looked like heavyset baseball player John Kruk,
now with ESPN (Kruk's autobio gets its name from what he told a woman once: "Lady, I ain't an
athlete, I'm a baseball player!") Kruk too lost some weight (he and others, like Mike Golic, are
doing weight reduction ads.)

Oh come on, have media anchors (especially female) really EVER represented the average person?

I know--Howie gave that nickname to him and when he did the Pleasure Pit show he amended it to
have it stand for "Victor Bravo" but still...

Why doesn't Woo Woo Ginsberg get a real name too?

Yeah, but we all know it really stands for "Virgin Boy" which is not too flattering. IIRC, Goudie tried to get away from the VB moniker when he was first on Fox 25 - but it ended up sticking with him anyhow. Now he's just going with the flow, I suppose.

FWIW, I think VB is really quite entertaining and it is refreshing to see a "real" face on TV. He's been doing a great job over at Fox and he certainly gets my kudos for that. This guy is beating the odds....

Didn't help VB that they have a Doug in the traffic copter.
