Verizon has announced renaming their mobile division Yahoo Mobile

https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/yahoo-is-launching-yahoo-mobile-phone-service/

Yes we are reaching the 20th anniversary of the formation of Verizon Inc when GTE, Airtouch and Bell Atlantic merged together to form Verizon Wireless. Now 20 years later Yahoo Mobile comes out and it's available for Verizon customers.

i don't think this is a rebrand of a Verizon Wireless, i think this is their way of launching a service to compete with AT&T's Cricket Wireless, T-Mobile's Metro by T-Mobile, and Sprint's (soon to be spun off from the soon to be complete merger with T-Mobile) Boost Mobile brand, as well as the many brands of Tracfone's prepaid service.
