A talk show this good should not be restricted to WSYB's, top of the dial, local 5000 watt daytime signal.. Now all of Vermont and the world can experience, "On The Air with Tim Philbin", now that WSYB has turned on the streaming ! :D www.wsyb1380am.com !
 
I agree about Philbin! He has long been above the market talent-wise. But let's be honest here, Philbin is the ONLY thing worth streaming on WSYB! Rush, Dennis Miller, you can get in the markets they originate from or their network streaming feed, so no big deal there for SYB. High school sports? Best coverage is with Jack Healy on www.neksports.net. They have over 20 combined sportscaster of the year awards between Jack Healy and George Como. In fact, Jack won it again this year! Steam mornings on WSYB? Now that's funny!!Regarding streaming, 4 of the 5 Catamount stations are streaming, with the 1 left off being....ta da..Z97!!! Of course, why would Marbles or Bear allow the thorn in their side to share the wealth? When will it end with them totally and completely kicking that station to the curb? Oh well, if you can't beat 'em , buy 'em, right Marbles? Best of luck in the streaming world!

His name is spelled Commo. George Commo.

35 years as one of VT's best sportscasters, at least do him the courtesy of spelling his name correctly.
 
Philbin being streamed is great.. He is such a talent, and deserves to be heard statewide, and worldwide.

I'm surprised they are streaming Rush, though WRKO and other stations are now streaming El Rushbo. Right now I'm listening to the Sox on WSYB's stream.. I would suspect that is an honest error, considering WEEI or WRKO do not stream BoSox games. While the sound quality for the SYB stream is fine for talk, the streaming sound quality for the music stations is fair. The streaming quality for the music stations somewhat lack the richness or depth of sound like a Liquid Compass or other higher quality stream applications. I would suspect to make Z 97 more appealing to it's core younger, computer savvy listeners, the stream would need to be of a higher quality. That's if there are any plans to put the big Z online.

Overall it's a good move, and long time coming for them. Good for them..
 
The absolute worst local "talk" show I ever heard was Anthony Pollina's daily paid show on WDEV. Obviously, the only way a guy like that gets a daily radio show is if he buys the time. Is that charlatan back on the air?
