Vern (WSHW) translators

Vern Kaspar applied for a ton of translators for Shine 99 in Frankfort. I caught one of them on the air at 107.5 a little north of Indianapolis last weekend. How many of these are on the air now, and are they all relaying Shine?

According to their website, they are on 107.5 out of Zionsville as well as their 99.7. No other translators are listed.

I'm still confused about this. They built the Zionsville TX at 107.5, and left the rest of their singleton CPs to expire. They still have some that are MX, but they will have to pick 10 of them according to new FCC rules since they are 2003 Great Translator Invasion apps. This shouldn't be terribly difficult, as they applied for a handful of frequencies in each city.

I'm surprised that they couldn't have sold/donated some of the singletons to Friends of Christian Radio, Indiana Community Radio Corporation's Jesus First Network, or perhaps even K-LOVE.

Nonetheless - I guess it leaves more channels open for LPFM down the road, and I am grateful for that.

I listen to my mp3 in the car on 107.5 FM.

I can't believe teh plan was ever to blanket Indiana with Shine 99 translators (and why 3 in Frankfort itself? Who in that small town can't get 99.7 on their toaster?).
