"Veronica Mars" on CBS?

I couldn't help but notice that CBS did a double run of UPN's "Veronica Mars" (starring Kristen Bell) this evening. The show, although a critical darling, hasn't been too hot ratings-wise for most of its first season on UPN. (That may be why the show is moving to Wednesdays this fall.) Was CBS only running these episodes tonight or will they be doing this again? (Yes, I'm well aware of CBS and UPN both being owned by Viacom.)

If Veronica Mars had been on CBS w/ a strong lead-in last season, it'd be the hottest show on TV.

As it was, it was on a network where it didn't really fit in and competing with an equally good new show (House) which had the advantage of following American Idol for half the season.

It's supposed to be for a few more weeks to get some publicity for the show.
 
Veronica Mars would be a better fit for CBS, say before CSI.
It really doesn't belong on UPN anymore, since it stands out as one of the very few non "urban" shows on the network.<P ID="signature">______________

Agreed. I like Kristen Bell and started watching the show midway through the first season to see her. As expected, I started getting into the show. I just hope UPN is making a wise decision by moving it to Wednesdays for season #2. I am among the few who despises anything and everything about "American Idol." This was the one decent offering up against it.

I agree, like someone said, it stands out on UPN. Remember they did the same thing last year, when it premiered they would repeat the first few episodes on MTV.

If CBS was smart they would plug it in as a replacement when The Ghost Whisperer tanks.

I agree.

I wouldn't be surprised if "Veronica Mars" does move over to CBS sometime in the next year.

If "WWE Smackdown!" does poorly in it's new Friday-evening timeslot this Fall (which I think it might; much of it's young target audience would be away from their TV sets when the show is on), I could see UPN dropping "Smackdown" and "Veronica Mars" move to CBS, thus freeing up three more hours on UPN's primetime schedule for more "urban" programming.

Personally, I think "urban" programming is the direction UPN should take. "Veronica Mars" should move to CBS.
 
UPN is now taking a young female approach to its schedule. The corporate motto is "Where the girls are and where the boys want to be."

What surprises me, is that Viacom didn't decide to move JOAN OF ARCADIA to UPN, instead cancelling it.
