Versus returns to DirecTV

Now if Versus just showed any programming worth watching, this would be an actual story. I have DirecTV and haven't missed Versus at all, and I'm a HUGE sports fan.

What happened to Comcast's desire to take on ESPN? I see they got cheap and just decided to buy NBC instead.

I feel the same way. I have gotten by without it so far, so why should I be excited about it now. From what I can see, Versus just shows NHL and bull riding....big woop!
 
I guess the network formerly known as Outdoor Life spent enough time "outside". ;D

Football from the Mountain West conference. Now THAT'S something worth watching. We all know how much of a powerhouse schools like Utah and Wyoming are on the grid iron!

Tour de France? Three weeks of guys riding bikes around France. Again, compelling programming.

Too bad DirecTv couldn't have left Versus off the system, then used the extra bandwidth to put ESPNU in HD.

Wyoming's games air on The Mtn.
 
Also, most Indy Car events (ESPN has rights to about a half-dozen or so including the Indy 500). That's the only reason I'll watch.
 
Very happy to have it back in time for the NHL Playoffs. I still hate Comcast more than I
love hockey though.

DirecTV shrewdly held out until they had NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman sweating bullets
about viewership for the upcoming playoffs. That plus inevitable questions that were going to
be asked in Washington about NBC someday being pulled off DirecTV no doubt moved things along.

Aside from the NHL and some of their college football coverage I don't really watch it though.
