Very classy Fox 5

WSB Sports anchor Bill Hartman's father passed away today. During the sports report Hartman's passing was mentioned and condolences were sent out to Bill and his family mentioning that Bill was a former WAGA Sports anchor as well. That took a lot of class and Fox 5 is to be commended for what they did. <P ID="signature">______________

Fox 5 did the same thing when they announced that Guy Sharpe passed away.

Also, a few years back, Suchita Vadalamni talked on WAGA's air about Monica Kaufman...in a very positive light.

I'm really sorry to hear about Bill Hartman's dad; he was something
of a fixture in Athens when I was at UGA. And I remember when the
younger Hartman started at Channel 5. My condolences to the Hartman
family as well.

Fred Kalil at 11Alive also talked 30 seconds or so about Hartman's passing at 6pm Thursday.

Having worked with most of the TV sports guys in town, there is a friendship - for the most part - among them. Bill Hartman, in particular, is very friendly and well-liked.

Ken Rodriguez can be a handful, but Dowdle, Kalil and the weekend folks are very down-to-earth and friendly.

If Kalil had not made it through his health problems a few years back, he would have been recognized on the other three stations in a very genuine way.

The only guy who would not have been remembered kindly is Jeff Hullinger...though a moot point now.

OK, You have me curious. Can you elaborate on Hullinger a little? Just enough to give a flavor of why he cannot get no respect?

Nothing sinister. Just an arrogant guy toward the end of his time here. The other sports guys weren't fans, I can tell you.
