Very pleased with the changes at Party FM

Suprised no one has posted, the station has taken a much more dance focused approach, they are now playing remixes of songs they used to play regular mixes of, and some older dance stuff I haven't heard in awhile. I'm glad they are going more in a dance direction to keep those Pulse listeners. The station hasn't sounded this good since Andre left.

I completely agree with you. On Day 1 of Party 87, it was mostly hip hop. Lots of people were complaining about the flip in every medium. I guess Vic Latino realized that it's better to cater to the million Pulse listeners than the 200,000 Party listeners. I just hope the damage isn't done permanently, and the people who complained about Party 87 on day 1 will come back to support Party 87. It took Pulse 87 over a year to build a million listeners, and Party 87 cannot lose them in one day.

Now if they would appear at clubs outside Long Island, I would love that. I love dance music, but I don't feel like driving 2 hours to a nightclub in the middle of Long Island. But I'm sure that their promotions team doesn't want to drive 2 hours to New Jersey for a remote broadcast when they could just go 15 minutes away.

I had wanted to give some time on this before I made my comments :)

But yes, the station has shifted to more to the dance side. There STILL is some hip-hop/R&B in there but not as much; you can't totally alienate those listeners of Party FM that were used to that, nor would it make business sense to do so. There are still some complaints from fans but getting in DJ Serg did help to appease people. Plus if they add some more staff from Pulse down the road, people may feel even more comfortable :)

Here's a thumbs up to you Dance fans gettin' your groove on again. It's nice to hear of a station caring about a listeners opinions in these times. Too bad there aren't any real dance stations down here in B'more/DC. I tend to get bored fast with what the programmers think of as Dance in the same way as Active rock is confused for Alternative. Now if only someone south of NY would do something fitting with the DRE calls radio might be worth turning on again.

I think their mix shows are a little hip hop heavy. I mean u can hear the same stuff on Hot and Power to name a few. I would think if they want to stick out in NYC they would lean their mixes more dance like Pulse did. I'm listening to them right now and i thought i accidentally flip it to hot97.

Whats even better is - their sound processing... wow! They must have tweaked it this week cause it so much louder, punchier, and fuller than the other stations on the dial.

Just a little curious... what ratings system is anyone using that says Pulse has 1,000,000 listeners? :-\

I'm trying to find that same ratings system that a certain individual stated Pulse had a 0.1 and 1/3 of cume out of that 1,000,000  :-X

Indeed party FM is playing less "ghetto rap",hopefully they will eventually sound more like PULSE 87.When will party FM improve their web streaming? It's @ 32k sounds horrible AM quality. Most people now have high speed internet connections ,no excuse why party FM shouldn't web stream @ 128 k. I hope Vic Latino will increase it to at least pulse 87 quality.
