Oh, gee. There's so much to be jealous of. Bouncing around the country working at flea bite stations in small towns nobody ever heard of for McDonald's wages.
Ever wonder why radio has some many jobs for 23 year olds and why most people are out by time their 30?
And there are lots of reasons why people attack someone. As Hensen himself suggested, maybe some people resent the way they were treated by station manager or Hensen himself.
Maybe you think you will be the next Howard or the next Rush. Some people plan for their futures by buying lottery tickets every day, too. Let us know when you've had enough mistreatment from the petty SOBs who program and manage local radio stations - when you're mad as hell and aren't going to take it any more.
Look at Brusstar and Bryant, who have more ability than most and went farther in the business than most, and you'll get an idea what the future likely holds.
For the record, by the standards of small town radio, Hensen is not all that bad. He's made some bad choices but that's not necessarily his fault. His show sounds like he's spent too much time at one station doing what he felt like doing without a good PD giving him solid direction, feedback and coaching. He was his own PD at one point. More recently, Joe Thomas was PD but had his own show to worry about. The things Hensen has been criticized for are the kind of things that inevitably happens when one person doubles as PD and air talent - and a big part of the reason why small town radio often sounds they way it does.
