Veteran Weatner Person asked to take big Paycut

Thanks for the clarification Richard. I appreciate the correction. So Pimentel & company were the ones responsible for the Mike Landess/Angela Robinson experiment on the anchor desk. So many things including the logo changed in 1993 that it was hard to keep up. I remember them dropping "Alive" from the news moniker for a short time only to bring it back. This was when they referred to themselves as "Atlanta's News Channel". The Frank Gari theme music was great, though.

Pimentel and Dubow decided that issues related to the 11Alive name were deep enough that a change to "11News" was warranted, like "9News" at the sister station in Denver. After a time, they determined that viewers still thought of the station as its old slogan...and brought it back.

They also brought Mike Landess to Atlanta because while he had some issues in Denver, he was still widely recognized there. The feeling was that a fresh start in Atlanta would serve both him and the station.

Without going into detail, the day Landess came to the station, I learned why it's always wise to keep your mouth shut around newspaper reporters who cover television...

To the folks who say a meteorologist should lose his/her job because of not having enough flashy graphics is silly. People watch tv weather for an accurate forecast, with some personality sprinkled in. If the forecast and the personality are on point, the graphics are background noise. The argument that flashy graphics are something a viewer wants is like saying someone only listens to a radio station because of its jingles or imaging. That only holds true for one group of people... folks like us who post on these boards.

Just my humble two cents.
