Veterans Day on TV Land: More M*A*S*H !

TV Land will salute Veterans this weekend with mini-marathons of M*A*S*H Saturday and Sunday night starting at nine pm(thats 2100 for you vet-types).

As nice as that is, and fully realizing that the audience/demo for TV Land is always on-the-move, for veterans in general, wouldn't it be great to roll out a few "Phil Silvers/Sgt. Bilko" shows, maybe a few "Hogans Heros" and even one or two of of the awful Armed Forces Television comedy, "Six O'Clock Follies" just to mix things up a bit?

I'd have to guess that TVL has the rights to shows MASH however many times and that's what they're doing.

BTW: Board Administrator: I had thought about putting this post on the national TV board but decided to put it here since it concerns "classic" programs. Please move this post if you so desire.

My Dad was a Navy WWII vet (and proud of it). One of his favorite shows was McHale's Navy. It would be cool if they ran a few episodes of that show to honor the memory of my Father and all the other vets that have passed on. I would suggest running the episode that mentions JFK and PT 109.

All of what everybody says about the various "military" shows is well and good, but putting together a mixture of program with military themes require imagination and work--two quantities that TV Land studiously avoids. The MASH selection is simply a way to make a holiday splash but without doing any actual work.
