Jack-Minn St Paul number 3 25-54, fall book just out.

Impressive.

One of the few. In the meantime Jack's going down the tubes in New York, Chicago and Indianapolis.

I was just coming to the board to post about the good ratings, you beat me to it! :) That is a good Jack! Love the heavy amount of 80s, yet with a good amount of other stuff. I like it better than Jack off the bird (which we get here), too much 90s on it.

As usual, you are dillusional and self-serving.

Chicago nor Dallas are disasters- their billing is up and their 25-54 profiles are improved over their previous formats. Even Jack in NYC is finally beginning to show signs of life.

How are doing (hint: very well) in these markets?

LA
Phoenix
St Louis
Seattle
Portland
Nashville
Louisville
Des Moines
Vegas
Salt Lake City
Milwaukee
Austin
Grand Rapids
Philadelphia
Oklahoma City
Omaha
Baltimore
Greensboro-Winston Salem
Columbia SC

And these are just the examples that come to mind. Ignorance is one thing--selective memory and biased spin are quite another.

That might work, but Jack radio is A DIFFERENT CONCEPT. Its fresh, different, and cool.

Many listeners tune to Jack because there are no jocks and very little chit chat.

And to anyone who thinks Jack is on the downfall (steppenwolf and a few others):

ALL new formats will drop off a little after some time. Just because a particular VH station is down afew points, doesn't mean its over. All stations fall. Even WLTW in New York.

Fresh and different...yes. Cool only to the indigments of society that are too cheap or just can't afford the luxery of an ipod.

Notice that over time, the ads running on jack will be for money tree, pawn shops et al.
NOT for The latest marcediez benz to become available in your town...
Heee heeeeee heeeeeeee haaaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaaaaa Hoooooooo YAH!

At least local radio personality will remind people of ALL walks of life why they still listen to the radio...not just the indigments of society today.

Re: VH ratings

Does O.C. just sit around with his cheeks spread for Jack? Give it a rest, it's embarrasing to see a grown man spend so much time rah-rahing a format, have you no life?

you and your constant obsession with bodily suctions and functions really says something about what must do with YOUR life.

Re: VH ratings

You guys are all too funny! I'll get the popcorn!...nothing much good on tv tonight anyway!

Jack needs something LOCAL in the morning and afternoon drive that will really say "Here's another thing you're missing if you reach for your ipod"

A regular routine that won't grow tiresome. The 3 E's are a very serious factor here folks...<P ID="signature">______________

I totally agree with you and have said all along that the V.H. stations that want to be successful over the long term have to think seriously about some personality component. They have some on at the V.H. stations in St. Louis, Phoenix and Louisville (that I'm aware of). Some mid/smaller markets, as well.

OC has a good discussion though. He gives out the facts.

You seem to spend most of your time rah-rahing about what a bad format Jack is.

SO FAR, Jack is successful in most places. Deal with it.

Facts? Hardly.

VH ratings

Facts- yes, totally. I only deal in real evidence (which in today's world
-HELLO!- comes from Arbitron ratings. Poo-poo it all you want, it's in black & white and available for all to see.

It's you and your butt-buddy muscloverII who just plain hate the V.H. format and refuse to see reality. And, you look like very bitter, sour-grapes ha-beens when you just plain dispute ratings performance numbers that can be backed-up in every case.

If you don't like it, tough. When you see a post of mine, stay right in your hole and keep hiding from the world.

I know, I know, its hard for you to understand the true facts. You're in major denial. de nile isn't just a river in Africa.

Fishing for a demo where it does well in one market but not another, and for the "other" market selecting a different ratings demo to make VH sound successful, isn't using facts. It's fishing.

VH is not a format, it's a programming tool that can be used in any music format. To think that one can effectively reach 25 to 54 years olds, as VH backers claim, is wishful thinking.

VH ratings

a) right, it isn't a format. R&R, Billboard, Arbitron, RADIO-INFO, VarietyHits. com-- all must be totally on the take for recognizing V.H. as a format. Must be all are totally dilussional.

b) many, many stations' goal is to perform well 25-54. Where have YOU been all these decades?

c) pack it in- you're beginning to look like a fool.
