VH1's The Gossip Game

VH1's latest reality show "The Gossip Game" is a show focusing on the life of female radio jocks, journalist and bloggers in Hip-Hop. The show features HOT 97's K.Foxx and POWER 105.1's Angela Yee. Interestingly, the topic was brought up about HOT 97 vs POWER 105.1. Angela mentioned that HOT 97's jocks are not allowed to communicate with anybody at POWER. That means no social media likes, friends, followers and they're not allowed to do the same events with POWER jocks. I never knew Emmis had there employees on lockdown like that.

Rings with the same absurdity of NBC's ban on Ann Curry, ordering her not to tweet well wishes to ABC's Robin Roberts.

Business is business; understandably, corporations both large and small are driven to protect their investments, in this case, their talent. Still, in this day of social megaphones like Twitter and Facebook, disclosures like Ms Yee's are bound to surface, and can only subject companies like Emmis to public ridicule. Make's them appear petty and paranoid. One need look no further than the on-going silly and destructive behavior of NBC toward Jay Leno.
