ViaRadio VA20 & VC02 IP ~ switch issues

I'm befuddled ???

Both of these boxes will ping (etc) when directly connected to the router but neither will ping if they are connected via a Cisco SR2024 unmanaged switch; however, they will ping when switched via a Netgear FS105.

What say you?
 
I'd call Bill Marriott and ask him directly at ViaRadio. He's a former CE so I'm sure he's going to try to dig into the problem with you and try to get a resolve.
 
2nd that...my experience has been that they have a great tech staff that's very willing and able to help.
 
I am encouraged by your comments. When these boxes were installed they seemed to work; but I wasn't directly responsible for them...

Now~a~daze I'm the HF?IC and they seem to be good at disappearing; so I ran some new cable and dropped the switch layers.... only to find them as a disappearing act again.

It has taken a few hunts to get to this point and I'm finally believing there might be a simple path to get them to gather the song>artist> path that has (so far) eluded me.

With a stable TCP/IP habitat, I might be able to nail this down.
