Vibe Death Watch

I'm not sure it is actually imminent, but we are probably in the season... based on 93.3's previous format lengths and spins.

No social media posts in a week and a half. Very very low social engagement. Only two calendar events, which seem to likely be part of a sponsorship package.

Latino was move to 97.1 and Vibe premiered on 93.3 on August 30th, 2024 (according to Lance's article date), so we are already well over a year. Ratings have peaked.

Would they spin up a holiday station to get out ahead of Majic? What other next format option seems like? KGSR return, full-power sports, 590-FM, some take on country?

The Vibe and Bob FM both HD is off. Wonder what that is about.

I don’t know about Bob, but Waterloo filed an STA last week for Vibe stating that there is an issue with the antenna and they are working towards repairing it, but are operating from a different location at much lower power.

The STA is 2600 watts from the Fox 7 tower which is the main tower for Bob, KLBJ-FM along with translators 102.7 and. 99.7. From where I listened in Williamson County 93.3 was much much weaker than usual. I wouldn't be surprised if this emergency situation also is causing the HD outage on Bob.

Currently I’m at the Domain before going to San Antonio tomorrow and can confirm: the 93.3 signal is really bad; 103.5 shows RDS only and the audio is noisier than I would have expected though that’s only apparent in quiet moments. Some of the noise may be from the hotel; hotels are big noise producers generally.

(No, I’m not in Austin for SXSW; that just happens to be a coincidence)

I noticed the night 103.5 HD went off 93.7 was dead air with no RDS all night. Also 103.5 was at reduced power but they seem to be stronger again. Been hearing ESPN 102.7 though
