Vibe Vegas 94.5fm

I gotta say this station is a really good dance station. I can't wait to visit vegas again to see how the signal coverage is. Last time I went there, it was hard to pick the station around the strip area. I hear that got a stronger signal in the area. ;D

I rather like it as well,,, Kudos to you for getting mixshows and your translator on air.

Thanks VERY much. It's been the "longest road" getting here, but then, I'm just stealing a line from a song with that :)

more on the way...

Well good things are worth waiting for, and Vibe vegas is definately a good thing. I listened all day the other day, and the only thing I dont like is your remix of Brittney Spears Circus,, but no harm there, no station is going to play no songs I dont like,,,, but trust me I love the mix of pop mixes and pure dance on the vibe. I heard the signal along the freeway to Saint George is really good.

Yes... however, now that the booster is up, work on the main transmitter itself is in process. So it's not as strong as it was up there, but that will be back to normal soon.

Glad you got a chance to listen. And don't worry... Lots of tweaks are still in process. I wish doing music only took part of a day.... ha. :)

You definately cant beat your imaging, Mitch Craig always has been my favorite VO Talent, I hope you keep hum.

I've been listening to the Vibe online occasionally since it launched, back when there were 59 minutes of music an hour, and one commercial for the same bail bonds agency every hour. I love the sound of this station, I can't wait till I go to Vegas and hear it over the air. It'll make me want to dance in the desert!

Thanks Nick! And lol.... I remember those spots too ::) It would be nice if we could always be 59 minutes of music an hour though :)

I would rather have 50 minutes of music an hour, that means a lot of advertisers supporting a dance station. I find it impressive that 94.5 survived for over a year with a transmitter in the Moapa Valley and only one advertiser.
Would be nice to have the transmitter located 70 miles southwest of Vegas than 70 miles northeast of Vegas, since there's a lot of traffic between LA and Vegas.

Well... I can't say it was always easy... but, we're still here :) And fortunately, now that the booster is up and running strong, it doesn't matter where the transmitter is. Maybe one day we can add a few more of those so we cover the entire planet. :p

Does the booster signal interfere with the main signal in downtown Vegas? Looking at the coverage maps, both signals are about 55 dBu in downtown. I'm sure the maps aren't 100% accurate, and the booster signal might be stronger than what the coverage map indicates.

eh.... not exactly accurate. The maps never seem to get it right. True, there are area's that the two collide some until sync is completed... but in the more northern areas. In Downtown, our signal was virtually non-existant before the booster to be honest.

Well its cool of you DMICH being a GM or PD and coming on here and talking with us and you seem to really appreciate your listeners as much as we appreciate you giving our format a chance. Not many PDs or even Jocks will openly post on this board, but seeing as no one has anything but positive things to say about Vibe. Some of us disagree on certain things, like Brett abd I,, but he knows I respect him greatly and am a big supporter of the school stations,, so we get along ok.... and really I support any station at all that plays any dance... Thanks for giving sin city a chance to dance,,,, and thanks for the world wide stream so all of us can listen as well as those in Vegas that may not be able to hear the OTA signal inside their home, since most homes are full of RF noise these days... Not to mention you got the 100kw local Mix 94.1 just two clicks away... Thanks again....

Well, I've always "trolled" a bit, just looking at what people had to say from time to time. I just decided to finally say something. Now that we finally have our signal in Vegas, I can talk a bit more openly. Without a doubt though, of course I appreciate what the listeners have to say, always have. I also appreciate what others in the industry think, including all of you.

I've always been a believer of this format and the music. And I've always believed that if this format can be a success anywhere in the US, then Las Vegas is a city already primed for this. There have even been times when I have been shocked by the response of listeners/advertisers here, and I mean that in a good way. It's quite an intriguing situation honestly. For those on this forum that have said this format can't and won't work, and that advertisers will never truly buy into it, and that we have no chance of getting national placements - I/we can now prove you wrong on all accounts. It hasn't been easy, and I can understand their points of view, but I simply do not agree and will do everything I can to prove them all wrong.

Thanks to all of you for your comments, honesty and dedication to the dance format and music. Many voices together are always stronger than just one alone.
