Vic The Brick Off Loose Cannons; On To KLAC Lakers Coverage

http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/a...he-brick-jacobs-moves-from-fox-sports-radio-s

Vic Jacobs has been reassigned from the national FSR show and will now do local sports updates for KLAC and provide Lakers coverage for the station. Pat O'Brien + Steve Hartman continue as hosts.

The article (possibly erroneously) states that KLAC AM 570 is the Lakers flagship station; the Lakers have been on KSPN AM 710 since the 2009-2010 season.

The article's author was likely referring to KLAC being the flagship station of the Fox Sports Radio Network, not the Lakers radio network. It's likely just a poorly written ambiguous sentence.

That's ok. I know a few AP writers back east who still refer the the currently dormant Orange County Hockey team as The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim ;D

So who is it that finally came to their senses? And why wasn't he assigned the circus sideshow and carnival barkers beat where he belongs? Of course, in LA, the Laker beat really isn't much different...

The Lakers beat is the laughing stock of the NBA. He'll fit in well with Cholo from 710 and other jokers that applauded at the Dwight Howard "press" conference. Well done Don Martin. Much better show now with Pat and Steve.

Although I'm not a fan of VTB, I contend that FSR/KLAC got rid of the wrong on that show. I've listened to the Cannons since the Steve Hartman-Chet Forte on the old XTRA 690, and I always thought that they and the (Joe) McDonnell-Douglas (Krikorian) were two of the best local sports shows of all-time in Southern California. However, this current edition of the Cannons is nowhere near as good as it used to be...Pat O'Brien is a just plain bore to listen to.

It's just a matter of time of when Genius Don Martin turns the Cannons into "The Pat O'Brien Show featuring Steve Hartman".

They also bounced Petros off his little 'cross talk' segment. According to petros, Pat wanted him off. According to Pat, Petros wanted off (highly unlikely as Petros has never turned down airtime of any sort in 10 years).

I like the goofiness of the 'cannons' with vic. I've barely listened since he left last week. The Pat/Steve chemistry is too sleepy and not where I'd go for 'real' sports analysis of any kind.
