Those who cannot get their full of Negro-, Jew- or Catholic-bashing will be happy to know that Pastor and Grand Dragon Jim Gallagher's "Victory Hour", late of WRIB, has found a new home on WNRI-1380 at 2 pm.

Is this not the program that was started over 40 years ago by the late Pastor Ennio Cuggini (spelling correction appreciated; I never saw his name written out, just heard it on the tapes he distributed to several stations back then).

He used to record the program on an exceptionally low quality home tape recorder which featured self-varying speed. Damn thing had a mind of it's own. When he'd turn out a particularly bad tape the phone calls from the "dedicated" blaming it on the station playing it back grew progressively more abusive as the show wore on!

Still, he dropped the tapes off himself and was a very nice individual in person and not "on". But would he accept an offer to allow him to use station equipment for free to turn out a technically decent product? Nooooooooo!

I can speak only for the period when I worked for a station on which he bought time. The most important thing was that he paid cash up front. Some others buying time for their own unique beliefs sometimes had very challenging methods of payment. I believe the building, where the station remains to this day, still has a dent in the ceiling from an exceptionally high-bouncing check from another "Reverend".
 
I remember meeting Cugini during one of my cups of coffee at WRIB in the '80's. I agree with Les; his tapes weren't the highest quality but he always made sure to pay for his time. WVCH had(and may have again)someone like him . At least now I know what radical conservatism sounds like...

Brokered Shows and payments

Back in 2004 I had a brokered show on a station in Connecticut. Every Friday night after my show I'd give my $20 check to the GM.

Another time at that station I met the Italian Show host. He's highly successful and pays the GM every month. He even has businesses advertising on his show located in towns where you can not hear the station. ???
