Video: Bill O'Reilly Sends "View" Co-Hosts Out Of Sight

As long as this attitude is around, we'll never successfully fight terrorism. You can't fight your enemy if you are afraid to identify them.

Before this thread degenerates into a political debate, let's agree on one thing: This is show-biz, folks.

Bill O'Reilly comes off as the no-nonsense tough talking conservative. Behar and Goldberg come off as true-blue liberals who stood up for their principles.

Alll of the publicity is good for The View, and good for the O'Reilly Factor.

I'm not quite cynical enough to imply that the "walk-out" was planned ahead of time, but it got people talking, so it's a win-win for both camps.

What was more interesting to me - that nobody has talked about - was O'Reilly's recent appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Neither man gave an inch, but it was quite clear that the 2 men like each other, and had a great time "fighting."

They didnt walk off because Bill "identified" them, he wrongly lumped all people in the Muslim faith as terrorist. That got the hosts upset and thats why they walked off.

I believe O'Reilly's line which got the ladies so agitated was "Muslims attacked us on 9-11".
This is factually correct and indisputable. It is not saying every Muslim in the world was involved.

That being said, anytime I see anything involving O'Reilly I can only think of those pre-match
interviews with wrestlers conducted by Mean Gene Okerlund during WWE broadcasts in the 80's.

and clearly Whoopi was playing the part of Junk Yard Dog.

You hit the nail right on the head Lkeller and that's what's missing in most political debates these days...respect. You don't have to agree with someone to respect them, their opinion, and their point of view even if it is one you strongly disagree with. Whoopi and Joy showed their guest no respect by walking off the set. It was a childish move. The only thing they proved by walking off the set was that they are not capable of having an intelligent debate on real issues because they are either incapable of or unwilling to listen to opposing points of view and discuss those views on their own merits. You can attack a position or an opinion without attacking the person. Too many people in this country on both sides of the political aisle seem to have forgotten that.

1. Any argument or statement that would cause those two to walk off the stage has to be correct.
2. The three of them probably sat down together after the show and had a good laugh about their stunt that got both their programs some publicity!
3. Like an old sore that is impossible to keep from scratching, if we would ignore "The View," it would quietly go away. Same for "The Factor."

Agreed. And boy, was it!

I wouldn't exactly call walking off the set as "standing up" for their principles. More like, they ran because they couldn't prevail in the argument. Then the look on their faces after returning (or else?) was hilarious.

I think at least Behar was truly angry, but I'm cynical enough that if it were discovered that the walkout was pre-planned, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, especially if Goldberg's actions were found to be less than genuine. Still, no such thing as bad publicity...

Your first point applies here - it's show biz. Two entertainers (and that's all they are) doing what they're supposed to do - entertain. Stewart and O'Reilly obviously doesn't take themselves as seriously as Behar and Goldberg seem to take themselves. Unless O'Reilly has to "do it live". :D Rick Sanchez should have been taking notes.
