John Stewart's booking as a guest on Fox News will pay off nicely. Diametrically opposed as he is to O'Reilly on most issues, Fox News is, as Barack Obama himself once said, is "a loud megaphone". Stewart has a loyal, though relatively small audience. His Fox appearance can only help him.

Unlike his contemporary Bill Mahr, Stewart is a likable guy who can hold his own against the Fox crew. A tribute to his civility is that whenever they engage, he and O'Reilly always manage a mutual chuckle or two.
