Video of RKO in 1989

http://howiecarr.us/2012/03/02/wrko-the-old-days-1989/

Jerry is in air studio, Howie is talking with a tipster in control room. Note the period equipment
(lots of carts), computers, etc. Filmed by Larry Bruce

>>Larry Bruce wanders off back to the newsroom, back when we had a newsroom, where people known as “reporters” worked. That’s ace anchorwoman Deb Robi typing the top-of-the-hour newscast.

Note Jerry in clip. Following is from entry for Jerry I wrote for Wikipedia (I wrote the latter half
of the entry):
>>He founded the (now-defunct) National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts. Williams was a muckraker and invited his listeners to write or call their legislators. Seen as liberal at first but later became an opponent to "statism". When listeners sounded wacky he would say "They're out there"; echoing Edward R. Murrow, his traditional sign off was "Good night and good luck, good night to you."
Jerry Williams was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1996.

Actually he sign off was "Good Night Good Luck Good night T. T was his wife who had not lived with in years. She lived in Florida but he said Good Night to her after each broadcast.

It really was, at lest on WMEX, "Good luck, good night, good morning, good night." I could be wrong though and would love to be corrected.

I liked when he would talk about the Cliquot Club... and sang "There's a Hole in My Cigarette"

I was recalling him on RKO in 90s, etc. --for me it was "good night, and good luck, good night to you" that I recall.

Occasionally Jerry would play back one of his old jingles but the station
name (WMEX, "Color radio"?) was taken out so it was:
Do you disagree (I think he's terrible)
Or do you agree (Yes he's wonderful)
Well whatever you do, be sure to let us know
Just call us (--part edited out--) --The Jerry Williams Show!

Just looked at the photos on the Jerry site. In the pic from 1977 at WMEX, is the Red rotary dial phone in the studio the one that Mac Richmond used to provide kindly and helpful advice to the old MEX jox or was that the L. Joe Scallon version?
