Villanova basketball games on Philly radio

I wanted to talk about this for a while. Last season, some Villanova basketball games winded up on 1340 AM because 610 and 1210 were airing the St. Joes and Temple basketball games at the same time. Since CBS owns the contract to air Villanova games on radio here, why can't they put the games on WIP-FM, WOGL or KYW to keep the games on their stations? I hope that they will use my suggestion, this season. The villanova games don't belong on a Hispanic station. Also if they don't want to put the games on 94.1, 98.1 or 1060, I think that CBS radio should think about airing the villanova basketball games on a tape delay on 610 or 1210 .

if we ever hear sports games on KYW--1060 or 1010---WINS ---- it willl be alll the proof we need
'that AM radio is in dire trouble.
 
Is Villanova basketball really that huge of a draw to warrant pre-empting a news or music station? Especially early in the season before conference play
 
furthermore---- its very rare that KYW or WINS ever break format. (they did for 9/11
& hurrricane Sandy but I'm hard pressed to recall other times.)

WOGL-FM has aired Phillies games when there's a conflict with the eagles on 94 WIP so they no stranger to sports programming.

I meant on the main signal 98.1 FM and the second part, I wish I knew. Having the Phillies games on 2 stations in Philly makes no sense to me.

All Phillies games are now broadcast on FM. It's probably in their contract. On the few days when WIP-FM has an Eagles conflict, the Phillies move over to WOGL. With the WPHT simulcast and the all-Phillies side channel, that means that those games are heard on WOGL-HD-1, 3 and 4.
 
There's a zero chance of KYW airing full sports games. KYW will continue to air sports updates at :15 and :45 (roughly) every hour, though.

Never say never. KYW & 1010---WINS in NYC could air sports games at some point if they can make BIG
$$$ doing it. Even ALL NEWS ALL THE TIME may not last forever.
