VIN SCELSA HALVES HIS RADIO SHOW ON WFUV SAT NITE

Long time "free form" radio DJ Vin Scelsa has voluntarily adjusted his 8 pn-midnight Sat nite time slot on WFUV, reducing it to 2 hours, the veteran dj saying he doesn't have the stamina for the 4 hour show any longer.

What would be a good gambit for WFUV to fill the vacated 10 pm to midnight slot on Sat nite?

Anyone know what Scelsa's ratings for the 4 hour Sat nite slot were? ...(his weekly program was on for the better part of 10 years on WFUV)

Ironic that on the same weekend that Vin Scelsa from Fordham's radio station says he doesn't have it in him anymore, Fordham alum Vin Scully decides to keep on going!

Really? He can't hack 4 hours a week? Stamina? 4 hours a WEEK?!

I wish I had that luxury...

Any one know Scelsa ratings for the Saturday night WFUV slot?

No, WFUV temporarily filled the 2 hour 10-midnight Sat nite slot with old Scelsa interviews. The station mgment has decided against breaking in a new local show for 10-midnight, and has now changed the schedule to add a syndicated David Dye one hour World Cafe interview show at 10, and the syndicated "E Town" show into the 11 pm slot, and Scelsa will be on air 8-10 pm. Do they track his ratings?...it's about the only truly free form music program left in NYC....remember free form?

Sorry, I thought I remembered that after his surgery 4 years ago (?) he cut back from 4 hours "live" to first-2-hours "live"/last-2-hours recorded. (Per Wiki, some permutation of this was still going on recently.) Whatever -- his Facebook page hasn't been updated since last year either. I've always loved Scelsa, but come on -- he turned this whole decision into an existential crisis. It's 4 hours of radio, dude.
