Vince Coglianese of WMAL to Replace Dan Bongino on Westwood One

Conglianese is currently 3 to 6 p.m. on WMAL-FM Washington. He's been tapped to replace Dan Bongino, who is now the #2 official at the FBI. Earlier, Westwood One chose Guy Benson to host 3 to 6 p.m. on the network. He comes from Fox News Radio. He replaces Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles and Matt Walsh who all had one-hour shows on weekday afternoons.

So Westwood One's Talk Radio schedule is...

5 - 6 a.m ............................ America in the Morning with John Trout
9 a.m. - 12 p.m................. Chris Plante (of WMAL)
12 - 3 p.m. ........................ Vince Canlianese (of WMAL)
3 - 6 p.m. .......................... Guy Benson
6 - 9 p.m. .......................... Mark Levin
9 p.m - 12 a.m. ............... America at Night with Rich Valdés
1 - 5 a.m. .......................... Red Eye Radio ( from WBAP)

Here's the Inside Radio article on Conglianese...

I wonder if WMAL will take Guy Benson for 3 to 6 pm. Last week Vince said he didn't know who would fill that slot.

I may be reading more into this than is there, but my sense is they're holding the noon spot for Bongino's eventual return.

One way to handle it is carry Benson for an hour or two, and then either have a Vince repeat or Vince local show for an hour or two.

At KABC, they only carry an hour of Benson and an hour of local news.

It also seems Cumulus is trying to use someone who's already on the payroll. Maybe give Conglianese a little more money on top of what WMAL was paying him, based on how many affiliates are running the program. And Guy Benson was already syndicated and just moves over to the Westwood One family.

I still wonder, if Ben Shapiro didn't want to keep doing even the one-hour show on Westwood One, taken from his podcast, why also cancel Michael Knowles and Matt Walsh too? Unless having three one-hour shows from 3 to 6 p.m. wasn't working? Listeners prefer a three-hour block hosted by one person?

All three were part of the Ben Shapiro package. They all work for The Daily Wire.

They didn’t work for Westwood one that’s why. Westwood one had a deal with the daily wire which was ended. They work for the daily wire.

Mike Opelka filled in for Vince yesterday. Opelka recently became the morning host on a station in Florida. A couple of callers said they hoped he would take the 3-6 slot. He didn't say no.

They don’t even have a replay of his show any where on the internet that I could find.

WMAL has named a replacement for Vince Coglianese, who is moving to 12 noon:

It was teased in post #7

He's now on from 12 to 3 p.m. ET on WMAL-FM. You can get that on iHeartRadio by putting WMAL in the search engine. I see he's simply calling it "The Vince Show." I guess he doesn't want us to have to pronounce Coglianese.

If he pronounces it in the Italian way, it would be KOL-yee-ah-nay-say. In the English way, it would be KOG-lee-ah-neh-say.

Ya I know that already I’m talking about the podcast replay version of the live show it’s nowhere to be found.

He pronounces it without the "-say."

Co-luh-NASE.

Again there’s no replay of the live Vince radio show on any platform including rumble. Please look for yourself. It is not on the Audacy app rumble anywhere I could find and I looked for about an hour. If you find a link for any of the replays of the actual live show please post a link for it. Otherwise don’t yell out random websites.

Ah, you mentioned the replay of the live podcast, which is very much there on the link I provided. AFAIK Bongino never _replayed_ the video from the 12p-3p ET _radio_ show, due to contract obligations with Cumulus. I'm not sure why you mention Audacy, as that's whole other network. Bongino, and now Vince, did put the live video of the radio show on his Rumble page, but again it was only the podcast that was available for replay. I hope that helps in this confusing radio/streaming/podcast time.

Again your wrong the only content from vince radio show was the tucker carlson interview on rumble. The other two hours of the show are not there. Have you even gone to his rumble? There is no podcast audio version of the show that's been uploaded or video replay. I mention audacy because they are the only audio company that you could replay certain shows on their website that aired live on radio. Westwood one hasnt posted any audio replay of the show. Not sure why you didnt mention that in your critique of my post...... oh because it wouldn't support your criticism i guess.
