Thanks for the info I just visited the WPIX website.I notice they emphsize on the calls rather than the 11 like WBZ does in Boston.WNAC in Providence with both 64's. Is this a new trend that stations are slowly dropping thier old "analoge" position in favor of just the calls.

It's a Tribune thing. A couple years ago Tribune stopped calling their CW affiliates CW Channel number. WPIX in NYC became PIX-11. (said as PIX not P-I-X). WTXX in Hartford became "T-X-X" now it's "The CT on WTXX". And most recently WTIC-TV in Hartford became FOX Connecticut.
