Vince Richards going to screwup Dallas!

I saw this from the news of the return of rock and The Eagle in Dallas. so who is going to run CC-Houston?

from radio and records:
Clear Channel Radio brought back KEGL (97.1) "the Eagle" and its active rock format to Dallas Tuesday morning (Dec. 18). Since Nov. 30, the station had been featuring commercial-free holiday music, but began stunting early Tuesday morning toward its new format. KEGL vacated its two-year-old Spanish-language oldies "La Preciosa" format on Nov. 30.

Jay, I'm unclear here. What constitutes a screw up in your opinion? The CC Houston FM's are performing well.

When Vince leaves Houston, does that mean Fo-Fo-Fo-Hye won't come on this board anymore?

Now KEGL will sound like KLOL when it was in its death bed in the later years. Oh well, at least DFW will have a rock station. Looks like The Edge will lose its edge and it will sound like The Buzz.

Does this mean Rod Ryan is out of here now?

well, when they own the only "rock format" stations on Houston radio, of course they are going to do well. No competition. The Arrow plays older classic rock, no variety. The Buzz tries to be the "new rock" with not much new music.

if you look at the Buzz playlist, its pretty stale. I listened to an hour last week and it sounded like it was 2000. old STP, old Nirvana, old Bush, old Collective Soul and new Foo Fighters that has been overplayed.

In reality, KLOL was doing well when it flipped to Mega. I was top 3 Men 25-54. It wasn't Vince ruining the station, it was CC's company intiative to go spanish and in Houston, it made sense. I don't agree with everything he does on the programming side, but he has done a good job with the FM stations. I think PPM dictates that.
