Vinnie the Crumb Mention on WMMR

This afternoon on Pierre's show he called Joe Conklin in to talk about a fundraiser for Vinnie the Crumb's family. They said his wife is battling breast cancer and WMMR is going to auction off a Bon Jovi guitar on air Friday. They also invited listeners to the fundraiser on Friday night. This struck me as interesting because it is actually up against Vinnie's time slot on YSP.

Sounds like a really great gesture on MMR's behalf, I don't think many other stations would do something like this. Any thoughts?

Pierre has always been a class act, and this is just typical for him. Bill Weston deserves a little credit here too for allowing Pierre to mention his competitor by name on the radio.

MMR has always been unique in that way, even when Sam was at the helm, they talked about Philly losing a great Alternative Y100, when they were blown up, instead of gloating. They still play VH even though DLR is on the competion, whereas YSP dropped all TS tunes when DS was on MMR and never brought them back. Hats off to a great Rocker for over 30 years.
