Vintage gear price list

Just for curiosity I wanna ask you this:

How much was the cost of these pieces of Harris equipment on their happy days:

Harris Stereo 80 (S) broadcast console
Harris CB-1201 (Turntable) with a Micro-Trak tonearm
Harris Criterion 90 triple player stero cart machine
Harris Criterion 90 stero cart recorder

The reason for my question is that I own the equipment listed above and Id'like to impress my friends not telling them lies regarding the original prices.
Sadly they don't worth even peanuts these days... Just worth the good memories...

Regards from Portugal

Pedro

I can't tell you the price on those items, but I do have an RCA book from the early 1960s that shows a basic RCA 77D mic was $195.00. But that was a time when just years later I started as an announcer at a station at $1.10 p/hour and was THRILLED to get a raise to $1.13 p/hour.

Search Ebay for the cost of a "like new" RCA 77D.

But like everything, the prices climb.

Eeeeeek! Oh boy.... When it comes to impressing friends, things get interesting.

If I was in this situation, I'd simply impress them with the fact I have all this stuff to begin with, especially if it still works. Really this stuff should be worth what you think it is now, not when it was the norm.

If all else fails... "It cost more than I could afford to pay when it was new". ;D
