Just got my hands on some pretty incredible old KBTM audio this week that I turned into MP3 files and thought some of you would enjoy. First are three jingle packages. Thanks to Guy Patteson, whose family owned the stations until 1992, for hanging on to the reels with the original jingles for so long. He passed them along to Dennis Rogers a couple of years ago, who painstakingly dubbed them into a digital format and pass them along to me this week. The first one may be late 1950s or early 60s. Second is likely the early 60s. And the third is from 1974 for the old KBTM-FM, Stereo 102.

And finally, in 1974 KBTM-FM began a progressive rock show in the evenings, with Dennis Rogers here playing the likes of Lou Reed with commercials for a head shop selling pipes, waterbeds and leather accessories.

Lots more history than I can go into, especially about the old KBTM. I think KBTM-FM 102 was the second FM station on the air in Arkansas. Dennis started there in 1965, hired me in 1991 while PD at the old Power 102, came and went during the Duke and Clear Channel days. And as I noted not to long ago, the incredible old 101.9 signal from an 1,100 foot tower is gone with CC recently moving the signal (at a lessor power) closer to Memphis to be part of that market. I've got another aircheck, this one with Phil Jamison (and news cut in by Ken Miller) from 1987 at the old Superhits 102 that I hope to get online in a couple of days. Hope others enjoy this stuff as much as I do! I'm kinda nostalgic with old Arkansas radio.
