Liz Habib, formerly of KTVK, on KCOP in Los Angeles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH7nDUyD3lg

Scary.

Say that again! What a SKANK!

Also appears that the chronic bleach jobs might have finally killed off the rest of Liz's brain cells.

If 3-TV could just forgive and forget, she might very well wrest that "Valley Trailer Park Trash Queen" title away from 15's Katie Raml !!!

;D

That's the style at KCOP. Save for Good Day LA, the KTTV newscasts are a bit more subdued, but on My13 all the female presenters (news and weather) dress like that. Not coincidentally, it actually all started on KTTV with Good Day LA and Jillian.

Please, someone post some old KOOLNEWS10 stuff from the Bill Close/Mary Jo West era.
It took a long time, but it's finally on YouTube!

Wishing the last :02 or so of the KOOL-TV clip had been edited out,
so I wouldn't have lost my dinner. ;D

And that brings us right up to date on the thread...

7:23 in (WJXX open), sports anchor Ric Renner.
I had the pleasure to work with him in Pensacola.

An all around decent chap, but tended to (literally) sulk and whine if the producer would kill any of his stories from the line up.
On the flip side, he pulled an April Fools joke that involved Emmitt Smith being traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Miami Dolphins.

Even threw in a video quote from Jerry Jones, wishing Emmitt luck (on something, no idea what the true BG was, we're talking early-mid 90's).
Bottom line, the phones lit up to the extent, people were UPSET!
"No, it ain't true!, tell me so?". They were beside themselves.
One of the best April Fool jokes I've seen from a news and/or sports anchor.

I hope Ric is doing well.
Last I heard, he was in Texas with Fox Sports.

KTSP-TV Channel 10 "Happy New Year" promo from 1986, featuring Dewey Hopper and Bill Close, among others I don't recognize.

I didn't know Hopper had worked there, and I thought Close had retired around 1984 or so.

:06 Claren Scott.

:12 Tim Healey, Tim Healey, Tim Healey (line from a now obscure promo).

:19 Mr. Weather, Mr. Weather, Mr. Ed. --Dave Munsey, Jim Schnebelt, Ed Phillips.

But where are Bev and Phil? :D

Bill Close and Claren Scott were the team to beat at 5pm, at one time.

There's more on that channel, stuff the NMSA hasn't seen:

1981: Danny Dark VO on a KPNX open
1982: the first CVD VO for KPNX?
Hello News in use on 12 in an actual real open
1982: KPNX election open
1985: KPNX morning "Action News Digest" open
1987: KPNX 12 News open and promo - the 1988 News Theme I believe is called "We're Going Where You're Going" based on the promo

KTVK Eyewitness Midday News promo, 1982 with the circle 3? - they really looked nice during this era. On a similar note, a new KTVK entry has appeared for The News Image by Tuesday Productions - likely from this promo

1985: KTSP Celebrate Arizona with the O replaced with the sunset 10 - by this time, they had a 5pm newscast, Live at Five
Late 1980s KTSP stuff

I totally missed that one! This is the first clip of KTVK from the station's "Eyewitness News" period that I have ever seen on YouTube.

Jim Heath delivers again:

KSAZ - JD Hayworth '94, 10 News bumper 1996 (with Prime News/Spirit of Arizona!)
KTVK - The '84 Vote open (with Turn To News! - that generated an NMSA entry)
...and all sorts of other election stuff!
