Virgin RADIO BEAT 8-04

I have listened to the show and am stunned by the success
in three months, especially with 18-34 females. This is
the target audience of KISS, MIX and KUBE. I also saw
Tesh beat Delilah in Portland after being on for just over
a year. I do not think that will happen here in Seattle
since this is Delilah's home town. I did think the KPLZ PD
was nuts to put this guy on, maybe it wasn't as bad a
decision as I thought, but he won't beat Delilah in women
and the show is a bit bland for my liking.

Dude, if TESH works it will be the first smart
thing the KPLZ PD has done in a while. As posted
on this site his main focus is TV and he is out
the door at 10:00am after his morning show. Last night
he was the KOMO reporter on the scene at a plane crash. Why
would they send him to cover a big story like that? Grooming
him for TV, just like they are doing with Cashman in the morning?
My guess is Kent's radio days are numbered. Why do women like
Tesh, who I find blah? Heck why do they like Kent and Alan,
who are also blah? Compare those shows to Stern, T-MAN
Mitch or even Jackie and Bender (poor as they have rated) Chicks
must love bland old guys I guess. Young guys go for Stern and
T-Man, radio guys that are truly funny.

Clearly, you have no idea what Kent does, nor do you realize how far he has to walk to go from his radio office to the TV offices.

Even if he did leave at 10:00am (which he doesn't), he did a fine job of leaving KLSY in the dust.

Perhaps it was right place, right time? Ever think of that?

Bad guess. Kent has built something up that enables him (and Alan) to leave on their terms. Blowhards like you keep saying they're old and dead, but that pesky Arbitron keeps contradicting what you say.

Just because you don't like it means nobody else is supposed to like it?

> Heck why do they like Kent and Alan,

This shows your lack of market knowledge.

Read that last paragraph of what you wrote, and THINK about what you said.

I'm not exactly a huge knock-out in the "score women" category; but I'd be willing to venture a guess that the only subject matter being "show me your ta-ta's" (24/7) just MIGHT be a bit of a turn-off for a target female demographic. Something along the same lines of any pick-up line that starts with "hey baby..." just MIGHT be revealing that the guy is a total loser and therefore hardly worth the time of day; yet guys seem to insist that by doing that it will, somehow, be as effective as some mating ritual you'd watch on Mutual of Ohama's Wild Kingdom.

On the other side of the coin, having Dr. Laura telling you three hours every day that you're worthless and need to get your life together just might not be all that much of a turn-on for the male demographic!! We tend to not like to hear that stuff.
