Okay, I looked on the FCC site and viewed the contour maps for 106.1 WTAK in Huntsville and the translator that they are broadcasting on 106.5. From what I can see the only additional coverage that 106.5 gives is a little further to the north to cover Hazel Green and Meridianville. Being from near that area, I can pick up 106.1 very clear.

Anybody know why this translator exists? Is Clear Channel trying to keep another close signal blocked out? This just seems like another case of wasted space on Huntsville's FM dial. I'm not the most experienced radio guy in the world, so if someone could help provide some insight as to the purpose of this translator, I would appreciate it.
