Visiting Buffalo

Call Me Sherlock said:
We'll be spending 10 days in the Buffalo area beginnng next week. Anything happening in Buffalo radio
that I should be sure not to miss?

With the fourth of July being a Tuesday this year, I doubt there'll be much hapening, but (pure) speculation of a big all American countdown leading into a new format somewhere on the dial is always fun to mention... :D

Not much is going on in Buffalo these days.....I think WHTT is doing a countdown on the 4th of July. While in Buffalo, check out the Toronto stations as they come in really good.

As a matter of fact, why don't you come to Toronto for a couple of days? I'm sure Mr. Sherlock could sleuth out some great things to do! ;)

Not necessarily radio, but there's a great blues concert at Artpark on Tuesday. Susan Tesdeschi http://www.susantedeschi.com/ is playing for free. Parking is $5.00.

You don't have to go to TO to see Canadians. 54-40 is playing for free at Thursday On the Square in downtown Buffalo. I'm sure there'll be a lot of "eh"-listers in the crowd.

While you kids will be "frolicking in the square" some of us will be hard at work, slaving over a hot turntable and cart machine.

As if!

Make that a hot touch screen and/or mouse.

I know of a luncheon Sunday afternoon where fellow radio luminaries Brian J, Tom Schuh and Buffalo types will meet at a restaurant conveniently located near the Citadel broadcasting ranch. We could call an impromptu meeting of the board at this watering hole and see who shows up.

What a hoot it would be if a Rochesterian or two, an ex-patriate North Carolinian, a house painter and a Canadian showed up!

Jim, that would have been fun. Sorry, I missed your post until late Sunday afternoon. Maybe another visit!

It would be nice if Tom Schuh started posting again. We haven't heard from him since the board split a few
months back.

Nice to see Debaser's found his way back. Where's Janos?

I'm here...lust lurking around. It took me a while to figure out how to post again. Plus I haven't had anything to say!

Oh, I get it: Top Sound (TS=Tom Schuh). Clever! I would have never thought of anything like that.

Damn! You had the NSA cryptologists working overtime on that!

I once thought of posting under the name "Lenny Zukemeister," once the namesake of the famous Zukemeister Broadcasting Network, heard 35 years ago in middays on WKBW.

It seems like only yesterday!

I think there's plenty to talk about (despite what my sometimes nemesis Element9 might offer concerning my posts) yet I agree that the new format of this board can be cumbersome at times.

It's good to read posts from the established regulars, Rox, JCMS/60s Guy, Mike 704, Giardina, Smith and others. I was wondering if Janos is masquerading as "SpareChange" these days, since we haven't heard from the esteemed Mr. Surlikevich since this new board went up.

I've noticed also that a certain Rochester GM, Mr. Doyle, has not made his presence known either.

One guy I'd like to re-appear is Tesla Coil... I hope he's healthy and decided not to post because he became tired of the tripe rather than because he's not well, or worse.... checked into that great 50 kW blowtroch in the sky. Heaven forbid!
Then again, it's better than the 50kW REAL blowtorch down below!

I think Tesla stopped posting quite some time ago, actually. He and I got into it big time because he was a fan of Filthy Susan and I considered her to be a fraud, even going so far as to say some nasty things to her that caused him to defend her vigorously.

But then he just stopped posting.

BTW-It was Lenny Weinrib who was the announcer for The Zuckmeister Broadcasting System.

Which I had totally forgotton about until you mentioned it... ;D

Ah, the good old days. I still have them all on cart somewhere.

Not Janos

No disrespect, but I'm not that person.

Hmmm. Tesla and Filthy Susan disappear at nearly the same time...

And it berns, berns, berns, that ring of fire!
