Visteon Demonstrates Transportable HD Radio Receiver

BFD - pretty much the same thing, as that other HD radio. Where's the dipole antenna ? :D

Same questions as the other adapter...
Will this thing screw up my reception of standard radio signals, etc...?
Where is the technical information and spec sheet for these things?
You think I'm just going to take some marketer's WORD on this?
At this price, I expect a full blown schematic to be included, or I'm not interested.

I suspect the Visteon product will pick up distant signals quite well, it seems that the regular ones they put in new cars are very sensitive, I can't imagine their HD product doing any less.

It will be located somewhere behind the auto AIR CONDITIONER that comprises the overwhelming production, marketing, and sales performance of the financially-troubled VISTEON company. Do some "homework" on these folks. Sales way down (especially from their "sugar-daddy" Ford)... In need of some new products QUICK... TWO Indiana plants dangerously close to closing--but I guess they can make HD Radio in the latest IBOC-friendly nation of Brazil :D

I think the guy is entitled to his own opinions of their products.

fordlink interesting service, broadband internet to the auto.

the ford deal with sirius had a line item that specified 10 channels for the ford motor company...... which included a revenue sharing agreement, then last year a funny thing happened when ford spoke some time after the ces show, which imho supported the ford channels ford said up to eigth channels of video and content would be available.....why would they speak for sirius.?

unless this deal below is still on, which the comments above indicate clearly its still on.

SECTION 6.02. Distribution of Ford Channels. (a) CD Radio shall provide the
CD Radio Service to each Ford Subscriber on the same basis as it provides the CD
Radio Service to other CD Radio customers; provided that CD Radio shall be
required to provide the Ford Channels only to Ford Enabled Vehicles and Ford
Subscribers. The Ford Channels shall be offered on channels selected by CD Radio
in its sole discretion. All numeric channel designations are subject to CD
Radio's sole discretion, and no representation or assurance in that regard is
made by CD Radio in this Agreement. CD Radio will not unreasonably change the
numeric channel designation once assigned.

(b) CD Radio may remove from the Ford Channels, or insist upon the removal
from the Ford Channels, any material which CD Radio reasonably determines to be,
(i) misleading or deceptive, (ii) in violation of any Federal, state or local
law or regulation, any radio industry standard, or the rights of any third
party, including the rules and regulations of the FCC and the Federal Trade
Commission, (iii) likely, in CD Radio's judgment, to have an adverse effect on
any

then sirius spoke and said they would be offering three or four video channels........of mostly kids stuff for the back seat .....

two storys for two deals.....??????

gm/onstar new patents show the devices are becoming closely related to (srs) satellite radio services yes, thats the way they wrote it audio/video am fm (srs) and most likely is do to the interoperal devices that both sirius and xmsr will be forced to offer by mandate of the fcc by 2008....(no hd support)

chrysler mygig thats a nice device, feature rich first generation.(no hd support)

all have onboard storage for content.

I read one from gm/onstar that allows voice activated internet search with xmsr while in your auto. for taging of digital content and deliverly to more then one location. your home isp, cell phone or auto. yes even to your xmsr/mp3 device like the inno that has a (ein)

I see very little in my patent searches that would indicate hd radio is moving fast enough to cover all the must have type of connections for content delivery in todays digital age.

So far, all HD Radio receivers are having reception problems. SaynotoIBOC, masquerading as SayNoToIBOC, you need to back up these wild claims with facts !
