Did anyone listen to this channel? I have from time to time and I think I recall seeing people on here say they listened to it before. I recall one of the hosts christy canyon saying that sirius xm renewed the channel until 2024 back in 2020 but I guess she was mistaken. I think the channel was also very popular among truck drivers because I recall hearing lots of people identifying themselves as truck drivers calling in.

Vivid radio channel 415 sirius xm adult entertainment oriented channel shut down this week.

One of the hosts, Annie Cruz, tweeted out that the contract between Vivid and SiriusXM expired this week and it seemed like it was not renewed, therefore the decision to pull the plug on the channel and its shows from its service for good.

Whel you missed out haha. It definitely could be interesting at times and the channel also served the overall purpose of radio in general which is to entertain and attract an audience. Which it obviously was successful at for a period of time the channel was around for 7 years so that at least two renewals I would think. Not sure if covid plays into this as I heard they were not permitted to have guests in studio for interviews and the channel was an interview driven channel. They were headquartered in Los Angeles. And we all see what's happening there with these new covid mandates being put into place again. Although from what I understand sirius made this decision to shut down this operation so.
That was the issue I suspect. The only regular listeners were some horny truckers and Syfy.
They had to pay the porn stars who hosted the show, which probably wasn't inexpensive. I've heard there was some internal management wishes to do away with the channel because parents had accidentally exposed their kids to the station when dialing around, and complained. A long standing issue has been the FM micro transmitters in cars which can broadcast several feet from the vehicle listening to that SXM channel. Mom's in their minivans listening to their local NPR station while taking the kids to school, are suddenly surprised by some big rig driver listening to porn stars talking dirty on Vivid. Ultimately, the channel became more trouble than it was worth.

Highly doubt that was the reason vivid shut down. Howard stern broadcasted very inappropriate things on terrestrial am radio for how many years and it was syndicated. I had read on twitter someone saying that there was an issue of people who were interviewed filing lawsuits saying they didn't fully consent to them.
Whatever the reason for finally killing it, I can tell you first hand, that Vivid was a pain in the a$$ to SXM on several levels. I know a lot of people who are no doubt glad to see it go.
It seems like your insinuating that this channel cost sirius xm a lot of money ?
Suffice it to say, there were many different issues with that channel that nobody at SXM will miss.
Care to elaborate ? Lots of people would like to know why Sirius cancelled it after they were said to have renewed the channel until 2024?

It had nothing to do with porn stars for some people that channel made them feel less alone in the world so maybe before coming to quick judgements you should consider all possibilities first.
Did they broadcast from SXM's New York studios? If so, I could see them picking up some extra money from some of the other talent and maybe an executive or two after their on-air shifts.
They recorded most of the segments and shows via studios in NYC, L.A., Atlanta, and D.C. When the Porn Stars took listener calls, most of those were via the control room in NYC, but they were via Skype, not in person.
They regularly broadcasted from vivid headquarters in Los Angeles and then moved to a different building shortly after the beginning of 2020 but still in los Angeles all of the channels hosts were based out of California. As far as the call screeners if that's what you're referring to I'm pretty sure they worked out of Washington dc.
Depended on the show. Some were in DC, some were in NYC. I used to walk by the studio they would use occasionally and see one or two of their 'hosts', along with the screener.
I was almost positive all the hosts were based in los Angeles. That's where vivid headquarters was based out of and the studio they broadcasted out of on site.
