Voice Guy 95.5 KYOT

If you're talking about the "Smooooooothhhh Jaaazzzz" voice, that's Geoffrey Holder, who's been doing KYOT's imaging since they went jazz 10 years ago. He's an actor ("Live and Let Die") and has been doing voice work since at least the early 70s when I first saw and heard him in 7UP TV ads ("This is a cola nut...")

I think he's terrific and has been a key part of the station's branding. Ask your neighbors or co-workers to say "smooth jazz" and see how many of them mimic him.

We are dating ourselves if we say we remember those classic 7UP commercials. Mr. Holder also was the narrator in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and was in Boomerang with Eddie Murphy.

Good call by Jorgy. KYOT was the first to pick him up.

But has it really been 10 years? Wow...<P ID="signature">______________
