Voice over work?

Hi folks,

New to the boards...first time poster. I work in the market (new to the area) and have a question for the seasoned vets. After several years of cutting my teeth in the business (which I still love after nearly a decade), I'd like to expand my production and/or voice-over skills. I don't have "the voice" like the guy from the Geico commercials, but I'm an excellent reader and speak in a very clear and solid fashion. I realize agencies are always on the lookout for different voices...believe it or not I'd like to get into industrial reads and whatnot. I also realize it's a "who you know" kind of thing (which Nashville is as a whole)...but do you have any suggestions on how to build this aspect of the business? In particular I'd love to hear from freelancers that are doing this consistently. I'm savvy with most of the digital editing programs and comfortable piecing spots together. It's something I've been thinking about for awhile and would love to start the process. I have numerous samples and a demo reel too.

Thanks for any information,

Toggle, you'll probably find some help regarding this post if you pose the question on the "Production" section
on the lower section of these boards. There are more than a few voice over guys that post there regularly.

Good luck!
