re: Jody... you can put demos at Voices.com and/or Voice123.com. There is an annual fee. You set up a profile and auditions are emailed to you based on the parameters you select. Is it worthwhile? Arguably. If you audition enough odds are you'll book a few gigs. Qualifies as marketing so you can write off the fees.
As for imaging gigs... as its' been stated on here; postcard campaigns, mailing cds, or buying databases and email marketing (my preference). A website is good for housing demos... but it's been my experience unless heavily marketed (Google AdWords, etc) one doesn't derive work from a his/her website directly. You can send demos to the major players for VO imaging; Abrams, Atlas, CESD ... not sure if Wm Morris still has a VO imaging dept. .... to be honest unless you're already booking at least $50k annually (of which they'll want a piece) they won't bother with you. But you never know. If your unique enough they may take a chance.
For spot work; Contact agencies, studios and production houses locally, and out of your area, about being added to their VO pool. Send demos to TV and cable for spot work. Don't bother with radio for spot work. No budgets there for hiring out of house talent. I believe the Robb Report (sub fee) has a section where you can access info on advertising agencies by city/state.
