Voice Tracking in Dallas

that "Edge of Night" post got me to thinking...If CC is VTing middays and late nites on KHKS, nites on KZPS, nites on KDGE, middays and nites on KEGL, and not to mention the syndicated shows...I put L&T into that syndicated show slot BTW. And I don't hold out much hope for live & local AMs on the KDGE.....Is this a knee jerk budget thing before the sale goes through??? Or does someone think this is REALLY a good, longterm philosophy. This has all come on very recently. What other clusters are VTing? Can they really not afford to pay quality part timers for even weekends???

hmm i didnt think KEGL was voice tracked on middays....
Infact i dont think i can really believe it....
Because Ryan is on Midday.... And Some Chick does evenings....
Night is prolly tacked or Automated

What station are you listening to? Middays is BigRig. He is in Tampa. Chris does pm drive. Nites is tracked out of Houston. A dead giveaway is when the nite jock is yakkin away and the cold starting song has been goin ten seconds. If a legendary rock station in market 5 doesnt deserve a live staff...then who does?

Wow! I can believe it and then I can't. You are a TOP 5 market and you are possibly VTing your MAIN day parts? Holy Hell! I was under the impression that all of their dayparts were going to be live. I really hope for the EAGLE'S sake that the VTing suggestion is totally incorrect. I had thought that the dude from Houston was coming to Dallas. As for BIGRIG... I figured the same thing. If he wasn't already there. I know that Chris R. is doing his show live. He's got to be. Now, the weekends... I would imagine that would be tracked.

WoW, this sort of explains why I have NEVER been able to speak to anyone after calling the 97.1 Request Line (214.787.1971).

Also, there's no "Make a Request" place on the The Eagle Website.
There is... just about everything else a CC website could and would offer....but....
No "Musical Request" Input is being solicitied.

I e-mailed one of the jocks, but got no reply. I guess they're just too busy to thank anyone for giving them some information they requested on-line....

The CC Corporate receptionist insists that all I need to do to make a request, is call the number. But, she had no real answer as to why no one has ever answered.
I don't think the left hand has any idea what the right hand is doing, at this juncture.

I like local Rock radio. Now, there's contests, on-line videos and music, soft porn, and sports tie-ins, etc.....

But, the only area I do not feel connected... is the Music Selection....

But somehow.... that is "OK"... in the radio world of the 21st Century!!

You're forgetting one thing, when has anything CC ever done been local?

I want to "Thank" 93.3 The Bone. Tonight, they played "Train Kept A Rollin'", and the DJ was so kind as to tell me that that was Aerosmith. I know that the DJ will also do me a great favor by telling me later that the song just played was "Back In Black" by AC/DC.....

I'll tell ya, you can't say our Local DJ's don't know their Music ! !

They are sharp as a tack !

Some of the voicetracking software has a feature that will not allow it to drop a song if it is attached to a voicetrack. In other words, if the system is looking to automatically drop a song for timing purposes, it will look at a song that does not have a voicetrack before or after it. If that feature is not part of the their particular software OR if that feature isn't engaged, it is very possible a jock voicetrack could mention a song that was dropped and the track might play out of the wrong song.
Attention to detail...
One of the things I've always said about voicetracking is that it can sound absolutely great .. IF .. everyone in the chain of command and control is doing their job...when someone isn't, by reason of resistence to the process, lacking of skills, or sabotage, the results are disastrous.
