Voice Tracking vs Ipod-style shift

Is there a ratings advantage/disadvantage between the two? When the book is analyzed and scutinized,
does one form dominate over the other during a quarter hour?

Just so I understand: "Hoosierky" wants to know the difference in ratings between a voice tracked station, and a station that has no air talent at all. Am I correct?

Oh, and the word is "scrutinized."

In your analysis, would you also add credence to stations that are 24x7 satellite delivered?

A comparison between the three would be most interesting to me. Given the differences in format, locations, and station coverage, a comparison might be difficult, at best.

Of the 3, I PERSONALLY would prefer the sat delivered, then the voice tracked.

Satellite allows "the illusion" of being live - if the local folks add good stuff - and keep things "fresh." I prefer sat to voice-track, because sat can privide "better" talent.

The i-pod style is nothin' but a jukebox- and that isn't good radio.

But I'm old.

You are correct, sir. Regarding the spelling error, I will go to bed without supper tonight. ;)

Is the economy bad enough that you now have to skip the entire evening meal; not just dessert???

My impression of satellite delivered formats is "GIGO." If you sign up with the satellite company, obtain the equipment, flip the switch, and walk away, nobody (and I mean nobody, including your potential listeners) will care.

If you sign up with the satellite company, obtain the equipment, flip the switch, and work hard (custom liners, personalization, localization [gasp/shudder]), you have a better shot at success.

Grammar/spelling class is now in session.
