Voiceover artist Mark Driscoll dead at 72

Here is some of his roles.

RIP to someone whose voice you have heard (whether you know it or not) and who has radio roots in many, many, many cities, including the city of brotherly love.

Just wanted to add some props here in remembrance of The Voice.

As a student at Villanova in the early 2000s I contacted (I still have the emails!) VO megastars like Brian James, Hal Douglas, and Mark Driscoll — all three of whom have now died — asking/begging for a discount on imaging for my college show. Really, I just wanted it to sound like John Garabedian’s syndicated Open House Party.

So when I got an email back from Mark — OHP’s voice — saying he’d be happy to do me a favor, well… I was over the moon. He cut several pages of VOs for me and had his producer Brandon make them sound like a million more bucks (hear some here). It was an act of kindness that changed my life — plunging me headfirst into radio (where I'm still treading water). I’ll never forget it. Thanks, Mark, out there where the reception never fades…

I had asked him to do VO work for an internet show I was doing in 2007, and he actually emailed me back! Never took it any further mainly because I stopped the show.
