I asked this over on the TV board and didn't
get a response. Who is the guy that does the
voice for the Nissan Texas Titan, the Dallas
Stars radio and TV ads, and I believe, WFAA
Ch 8?. He may be national, but with that fake
deep voice, he's almost as bad as Mr. Waaaaaah
over at 105.3.

sounds like your talking about Doc Morgan.....

It isn't Doc, and definitely not McCarthy.
I was wrong about this guy being the voice
for WFAA TV (I think that's Doc, and HE'S got
a great voice). The person I'm talking about
does the voice for the Dallas Stars radio
and TV ticket promo spots, and the new
Nissan Texas Titan TV spot. He's done many
national spots and imaging for classic rock
stations, but his voice just grates my nerves.

I had heard he was a local, but maybe not.

You're talking about John Wells, formerly of "The Zoo" and now a 7-figure voice talent who last I heard was operating out of N.Y. (He does the news intros for Ch. 8; Doc does the daily promos) John has a wonderful, smooth, deep voice: it's the producers that want him to grind down hard into the rough & tough mode.

John got his start in radio at Ft.Worth's old KMZK (a previous incarnation of 1540). John was heard by a producer at the then TM Productions and the rest as they say is history. Ask him about his Russian jet. Splits his time between the Park Cities and LA.
