VoiceTracking in SF

I can't speak to now, but as of a couple years ago, a local SF board op/producer was spending an hour and a half to two hours a day editing Ryan's SF exclusive tracks to make them sound like they do. This is the only show I know of where they spend the money to do this.

My point was only that VTed shows could have more content (other than music) than they do - not they should all be similar to Seacrest's show.

When I tracked at my own station, I could bang out 2 days of tracks in 40 minutes. That's the easy part. It's the 3-4 hours it takes you to find the material for interesting tracks that is time consuming...and big companies seem to only want to pay a couple hours for actual recording. It's the same principle with a talk show. Most hosts of a 3 hour show are in 3-4 hours before air time, preparing...otherwise, the show will suck.

I agree. Preparation is key, and whether is is VT'ing or prepping for a Talk Show, it isn't just a few hours of time behind the mic. The prep is more important.
