W&J, staying or going??

I have read in past topics and posts that there is a rumor that Walton & Johnson will be off the air soon. In my opinion, they are the only good thing about Rock 103.7. From them running off half the DJ's to changing their playlist, they really don't have alot left.

I didn't even know they were still on the air. Are they still doing that exciting show where one guy does a gay and black voice? Who still finds that entertaining?

Why wouldn't they still be on the air. They are the only daypart on that terrible station that scores above a 1 share in any demo. The station could actually shut the transmitter off at 10 after W&J get done with their 4 hour revue of The Complete Sheet prep service and still get the same ratings.

I agree with your comment about 103.7. If I want to listen to John Mellecamp or the Cars, I'll listen to 106.9. I personally hate the play list. As soon as W & J are over, I switch to another station.

And I am the opposite. I'd rather hear music on the way to work than their insipid attempts at humor.

I am starting to hear a lot of the same stuff I heard from them right before KLOL went south of the border. The other day they ended the show by casually saying that if one day you can not find them where you expect, flip the dial. Just yesterday or today, they were talking about Chicago in the Superbowl and that the last time Chicago went to the SB, they moved to Dallas and to stay tuned to see if history repeats. This is the same type of hints they were giving on KLOL befoe it flipped...You be the judge...

What's with Cumulus ownership in Houston? At all 3 of their stations, KFNC, KIOL, and KRBE... talent is leaving and music is changing... ???

A few months before the KLOL flip, Walton would talk in "fake" Spanish coming out of breaks, then say something like "getting ready just in case". They knew what was coming..
Apparently they're not doing quite as badly in DFW as they are here, it seems like most of the callers are from there.
