W226CT Leeds

This morning, I heard W226CT Leeds which is licensed to "Avondale Metal Works, LLC", rebroadcasting WAYE-AM, according to the station ID that aired on 93.1 FM (the ID only mentioned WAYE, WQCR in Alabaster, and W252BE Tarrant, however). W226CT is licensed for 99 watts but I was receiving a poor, yet listenable signal, here in south Shelby county. Licensee address at FCCdata.org for W226CT is the same address for WZGX-AM in Bessemer, so you do the math...

Based on the fccdata link you provided, the translator was at one spot, which is blocked by mountains, but now it has a construction permit which gives (Calera, as an example) a 40 dbu coverage to southern Shelby County. According to radiolocator, W226CT is just simply off the air, and W252BE somehow doesn't exist? For the meantime, if you have any interest in listening to either of those stations, you might be better off with WQCR's AM signal for the time being, but continue to check W226CT's signal to see if it improves. Right now, one of my local translators is going through this mess. It took forever to sign on, and then it only lasted like 2 weeks before it shut off again. Now all of a sudden, they announce that their using a different pattern altogether. They still have not come back on, so I get to enjoy a 110 miles distant station in it's place. :)
