W228BI On The Air

93.5, relaying WNYC in Smithtown. On a possible related topic, two new elements seem to have popped up on the WMJC tower approx 100 feet up facing west. Wonder if that is this. Time to start looking stuff up.

In any case, the 93/5 relay seems like a waste of time unless you are a WNYC fan along Commack Rd in Dix Hills. Even if you don't like WVIP, it does cover usable signal from that FM.

What does this make 3 NPR Stations on the the Island? I know there's a relay of Connecticut's WNPR and Fairfield's WSHU/WSUF.

There's also WLIU on 88.3 out of Southampton.

After looking stuff up, it seems to be off a cell tower on 25 by 347 in St James... which means it serves no need to help those afflicted by WMJC while trying to listen to WNYC. Basically a waste of time.. could have been a nice LPFM for someone if the regs were a little different
