W241AI Gorgas

I've been keeping an eye on that. I grew up in the Birmingham area and didn't think Gorgas passed muster as an actual valid license city for a facility!

I didn't hear anything on 96.1 during my last visit to town this weekend, but in years past 96.1 from the Edwards Lake Road area of E B'ham had carried WGIB.

Yes, Gorgas is pretty small. I have heard of it before, but had no idea where it was located until I looked it up on a map. I'm not sure if that translator is still on the air...as I haven't checked to see when I've been in and around the Hoover area. Their former "twin", W294BL at 106.7 (which was on the air in Alabaster at 96.1, also rebroadcasting WGIB) has been off the air the last couple of times I've checked while in the area, as recently as a wk ago. I believe their app to move to 107.3 and move to Red Mtn has yet to be approved.
